Pretty sure this "pullet" is a roo...Question

Ah! Just as I suspected...well, I'm not disappointed that I have another roo, just bummed that now I only have one PBR hen. Like I say, I may end up with another roo out of the bunch...which I guess is what I would need to keep the peace--mostly-around here. Thanks for your help!

Darn it! These pics are the spitting double of my 2. If I didn't know I could not get my pics up I would swear you stole my babies..........lol
We have been wondering if the silver grey was a roo as she/he has been caught with mouth open a few times. I can't have a roo as we are suck betwen 2 sets of apartments and live in the city so now we are in trouble and the real bummer is we like "him" the best. Gerty (the other) is really dumb and Aggie is smart and very friendly. We lost the 3rd chick a few weeks back so Gerty wll be all by herself until I can get a replacement girl.

To Tweets- make sure you get a replacement chick before you give away the roo. She'll be very lonely otherwise. If you go to the supplier/store whatever, look for the chicks with the most feathers, on the tail esp. Sometimes ppl will pick up straight runs, then set them back in the wrong container, etc. If you pick the ones w/o the cute fuzzy butts, you will be more likely to get the pullets you want. You want the awkward-looking 1/2 feathered ones. LOL Hope it works out for you.

Roosters can cohabitate especially if hens are plentiful and space is adequate. The older rooster will probably keep the younger in line until next spring. Next spring there may a be a challenge for control of the flock. This is absolutely normal behavior, but it can be brutal depending upon the nature of the roosters involved. If this occurs, keep the rooster you prefer and rehome or crockpot the other.

Thanks La_TomboyGirl good to know what to look for. These guys are almost 9 weeks can I put a day or 2 old straight in there or shoud I keep seperate till the little one gets some beef?

Anyone live in Los Angeles wanting a free Barred Rock Roo????????

I am a proud owner of BR's and those two are Br's now the lighter one could be a roo mine are older then your's are in this pic yet no crowing or laying yet so I'm not sure as to if it is a Roo or not but all signs are pointing to it so I'm going to say yes the darker one is a hen for sure the lighter one is a roo by 85% sureness.

If you wanna see mine have a look at my page.

Those two chicks are adorable together.

I have 4 roosters and the only 2 roos that cause any problems are the 2 little silkie roos. I got them as a pair and they fight with each other. My other 2 roos are a father and son. The son lets his father be the head roo but will step in if the 2 silkies are having an argument. He will just run between them to split them up and if they still continue he will keep running between them until they each go their own way. It's amazing to watch how he deals with it and he's not even a year old yet!

At what age can I put the 2 roos together AND should I introduce them together BEFORE I introduce the older rooster to the flock? Right now the pullets are only 4-5 weeks old.
