Prime AND paint interior of coop? Or just Prime?

Funny you asked. I replaced the door on my coop this spring--see my BYC page--and just got around to painting it and the rest of the coop. I primed both sides of the door as well as parts of the exterior of the coop that needed it--actually it was only one side that had weathered badly and, if I remember correctly, I last painted it 10 years ago. At any rate I used Valspar, exterior latex that Lowe's color matched to a piece of our vinyl house siding--I used satin but that is just because I handed paint gal a can of satin. I painted both sides of the door because they do get some weathering--I open them in the summer for more ventilation--and the window sills--windows are also opened--but nothing else inside the coop. My interior walls are vertical shed siding and it is unpainted--walls are insulated. I see no reason why the inside of the coop needs paint of any kind if you use some sort of wood for the walls. Don't, however, use particle plywood not only does pieces slough off but it collects dust and cobwebs. I made the mistake of using some in the ceiling and had to tear it off and replace it with 1/2-in exterior, good on one side plywood (good side toward chickens).
