Name: Princess Leia
Age: 1 1/2 years
Breed: Bantam Buff Columbian D'uccle

Her Story: She is my favorite hen! She is quirky, moody, weird, sweet, adorable and above all spunky! This summer she raised 2 LF chicks and when we put them in the layer coop with the other LF they were on top of the pecking order right away!

Next summer I think I'm going to give her duck eggs.

She fell in love with our OEG rooster, Mooshoo and when she was 6 months old he got sick. She became very depressed and lost all of her spunk. She wouldn't even lay eggs. After he died she didn't lay and egg for 3 months! After 3 months she layed 3 eggs and promptly went broody!

We took away her eggs and gave her 4 LF eggs, 1 Maran egg, 1 EE egg, 1 EE/Minorca, and 1 EE/BO egg. 2 weeks later we had to move her and her eggs into the house as her coop was 105 degrees during the day and she was panting very heavily. Next week she hatched her little Maran and her little EE/Minorca. We moved her to the broody coop and she raised her chicks. Every week she would get a little spunkier and when the chicks were 10 weeks old we mover her back home. When she got back into the Mini Coop she attacked our two new roosters (Darth Vader and Voldermort) and she would not let them get near her. A few weeks later we moved our other new rooster (Major Payne) into the coop. She took an immediate liking to him and fell in love all over again. Now she won't let the other bantam hens peck or touch him, and she follows him around like a puppy. Sometimes I wonder how some people say that they have no personalities.

Who would like to be judge? Someone who is willing to eliminate their bird from the show... since it would be unfair if the judge voted for his bird to win.
