(probably) a dumb question

We have a batch of chicks that are about 4 weeks old and I've noticed that some of them have little bumps on their legs where spurs would develop on roos. Is this a way to sex them? Or do some pullets have them too?

But, alas, pullets and roos have them.

Pullets have them, too. Sorry! Heck, I even have one hen with spurs like pencil erasers, so hens get spurs, too, sometimes.
