Probably a stupid question, but...

Do ducks lay all year round, or only seasonally (breeding season)? I haven't really ever thought about this and my ducks aren't even close to the laying age yet... so I was just wondering.

I honestly don't know, but I'll be looking out for the answer, too!

Will depend on breed and light.
Mine started laying in January, but I had a light on in their house at night for a few hours to extend their 'daylight'

My runners lay year 'round. It seems that for them, light may have something to do with it but temperature is more important. If they stay at 40F or above, I get about 6 eggs from 10 ducks daily, at least. Summertime, I get more like 7 or 8 (lost one duck, so now we're at nine, and the other day we got nine egge from nine ducks).

I learned this by moving them from their outdoor house (30 - 35F at night) to the basement duck pen (40 - 45F) and seeing the number of eggs for ten ducks increase from two or three a day to six a day.
