Probably a stupid question, but...

Depends, as has already been said, on a bunch of factors. Keep in mind that just because a bird is a specific breed doesn't mean it's going to lay the way another bird of the same breed may lay. A more important factor than breed is line--has the breeder been carefully selecting for top egg-laying ability. Any egg-laying breed from Holderread is going to lay better than any breed from a careless backyard breeder.

In general, magpies, runners, harlequins, and campbells are the breeds most often bred for good laying ability.

Of course, light, nutrition, temp, and stress all play a role. Stressed ducks won't lay well. Peaceful conditions, 14 hours of light daily, temps above 40, good husbandry, and excellent breeding will generally lead to year-round laying.
