I'm going to brood banties with standards next month. I won't however have my bantam hens in with a standard rooster. My Delaware, who is a very big boy, will chase down my banty Cochin, who may weigh all of 1 lb, and he could easily kill her by accident.

I ordered a mixed flock last spring.
A friend (with lots of experience) brooded them together.
The 2 bantam BRs and the tiny bantam Leghorn did fine with the 2 SS standards.
I would however, watch for larger chicks piling on smaller ones for warmth initially.
