Here is a pic of one of my kids, about 2-1/2 weeks old. This is a little roo. The comb isn't very prominent right now (and you couldn't see anyways from this angle). But his personality was all roo from the moment he was hatched.

My D'Uccle cockerel had the beard when he was hatched...so maybe it's the different types of D'Uccles all over again?

I am by far no expert in the subject of combs, to best describe it - There are 3 ridges 1 large in the middle and 2 smaller ones (really small) on the sides. I will snap another picture of her later and post it full size instead of cropping it from a larger picture. I had doubts of them being Cochin for some time because of the before mentioned things (tail etc), but I don't know enough about them to really make a decision thanks for all the help.

As for types of d'uccles, there was a thread recently where someone had booted bantams (yes, that is a specific breed, not a generic term for feather footed breeds) that people kept identifying as d'uccles. The difference is the lack of muff/beard on the booted's. There are other details such as tail angle and back shape/slope, but those are not nearly as apparent.

It could be the quality or even different colorations of the breed. I am betting on quality though because he was from SQ parents. Complete accident but too cool of a bird!

Mine was self-blue/ lavender.
