Yesterday my husband and my parents went to the park and spotted a guineafowl. (Not positive on the sex.. but I'm going to go with a "HE"). He was all alone making noises, and swimming in he water. They tried to help it, but unfortunetely had no luck. They told me about it, so when I got off of work, my husband and I went back. Sure enough, he was wading in the water, calling out.. and then it appeared as thou
gh something is maybe wrong with his wing. There were 4 other guinea hens in the park.. so we guided him to them. At first I was so happy, they saw each other and started running towards each other, but the others were bullying him.. and then a rooster was leading the other pack and was chasing him all over.. even pinned him down and was pecking at his face. He basically wasn't allowed to be with them. After that, we stayed by him for about 45 minutes and because he was so distraught, and crying out, people were noticing him. First, a lan let his puppy off the leash to go chase him. I freaked out and he said.. "Calm down quails can fly and they roost. It's just a puppy. Hahaha!" And, then a kid was with his mother and he was throwing sticks at him. I had enough so we took him home. Unfortunetely, he is very upset. And, I didn't realize the amount of noise they make until now. I would love to keep him, but he's noisy and I can't have something that noisy here.. He is scared to death and won't let me touch him. When I near the cage, he freaks out. If I could keep him, I know I could work with him.. but I can't. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am from Louisiana and would love to find a wonderful home from him. Here we are..
