I bought some "unknown" eggs at auction a month ago. I thought for sure they're duck since they're very big and they dont have any destinctive markings. They have been incubating for 30 days. I figured they're probably muscovy since they're taking so long. I also bought some other eggs at auction. They're guaranteed to be duck since I saw the duck lay them; it was a buff/crested duck. about a week ago one egg exploded and so today we were finally aboe to get it out (it was stuck to the tray in the egg turner). Here's the problem. we had to put the eggs from that incubator into the other so we could take the tray out and clean it. When we did, i noticed that the Duck eggs were about 20% smaller than the "unknown" eggs; I had never noticed it before today! So they're geese I guess? We set them 30 days ago. So if they're goose eggs, when will they hatch? I dont know anything about geese! What do I do if my ducks come out as goslings? lolololol. AAAAARGH! HELP! PLEASE!

XOXOChristineXOXO

Geese take 28-34 days to hatch..... The "things" can stay with the ducklings without a problem. (unless they are dinosours...) Have you tried candeling the eggs yet? Good Luck,
Mike

Yes, I have candled them once every couple days. Three days ago there was still about 1/3 of egg empty. Today only 1/4 is empty. In the last two weeks they have been growing very fast but especially in the last week. They weigh about 78 grams each, and my duck eggs only weigh 50 or so. They're bigger than turkey eggs, bigger than duck eggs, bigger than peafowl eggs, and twice the size of large chicken eggs. Very light, not white, pinkish/off white. I know theyre still living, because I can sort of "see" the heart beat. I dont know anything about raising geese. What do I do? How do I raise them? Is it much different than duck?

Goslings are pretty much the same to raise as ducks-They need water as well to keep their face and beak clean- and in my opinion- even cuter.

You mentioned an egg exploded- Any egg that is cracked and oozing- or exploded should be removed from the incubtor straight away- and the incubator cleaned. Having a rotten egg in there can increase the risk to other eggs. Bacteria in the warm moist conditions of an incubator multiply at a very rapid rate- so its always better to clean up the mess before other eggs get effected.

If the air cell looks small today- it could be that the baby has moved in the egg ready to start the hatching process.
