My SS roo is a year old now, and for the first 6 months he was second in command to a nasty BR roo. Punkit has not attacked us, other than to bump our ankles when we walk too slow. He is not the best of gentlemen, though the girls aren't being brutalized. I have 3 wo chicks now, since I want to breed some birds this spring, and I have two SS roos, with the same "just challenge me" attitude punkit had. Need to replace the older roo, I haven't had a fertile egg since he has been the sole rooster. He just finished his first molt, it was a hard molt, took only 2 months, too bad he won't be passing one that gene.
