Problem with Moles or voles

I have had a problem with something eating all my kale and younger sunflowers. I am assuming it is either moles or voles. Has anyone found something that will deter them without affecting free range birds.

Well, it is probably vole if it is one of those two, cause moles don’t eat plants. Where I live I have gopher and mole problems and I have three cures, the gopher hawk trap, a cat, and dogs.
