Y'all are too funny. I talked with fence people tonight about moving that one section of fence. Little problem though as they are no longer doing fencing. She said she would talk to husband and see if he might do this one job. I told them I could take down the fence that I want moved like last time and probably get this one guy to come over and remove one corner post that is cemented in with his backhoe like he did before. Might get him to move that dang stone pillar in the corner, too. Then all they would have to do is reset the posts and restretch that section of woven wire.
I cant take the dog to the pound because they would know who did it and its not the dogs fault his owenrs are bleepheads. I also wont give him exlax laced hotdogs like I planned, although it would be funny to find out he redecorated thier carpet.
The first year I had the fence up I got harrassed to the point I would leave the lights off in my house so they wouldnt know what room I was in. I stopped eating. I was terrified to come home. I have lived next to them for 18 years and did nothing to deserve this other than doing the right thing by surveying my property for a fence and going thru the right channels. I did everything legally. I even saw one of thier friends kids throw a rock at my beagle in the back yard. Boy!! Did I call him a few choice names from my window!! You can hurt me, but you dont hurt my animals.
This year they have been pretty civil with me and the mother and I, when we talk, actually enjoy talking to each other. She felt I was taking property away from her when every survey I had done<six in all> said I was in the right.
The reason I DID move the fence was the reason another poster laid down some booby traps on his property...............her kids kept riding thier ATV's thru my yard as a shortcut instead of using the road, which would of put, oh, I dont know, ten more feet for them to ride to get to thier driveway. I had asked and asked and complained and protested and was told it wouldnt happen again and HER freinds would ride thru my yard, so I said, thats it!! Im moving the fence. I guess thats the only way to get you to listen. She even had some freind of hers come over with a metal detector while IM MOWING and WOULDNT move out of the way until I was right ontop of them. She was looking for the pins. I told her you aint gonna find them there<where they were using the detector>.
So I guess I will just move the fence up so they will be forced to move the dog house and probably put up with some flack from the son, where as I will just start calling the sheriff and let them deal with it. They will probably get tired of having to come out. I also plan on putting in surveillance cameras. Right now I have two< soon to get a Bushnell> game cameras taking pics around the property. The Stealth cam takes videos.
If anyone wants to check out my YouTube videos of the neighbors dog they are posted on there. I put little comments in them.

Thats what I was hoping for is that they would move!! I even talked to someone who said they would be moving at the end of that year and the Mom even kept saying she wasnt sure she would be able to keep the house as she was having trouble making the payments. Unfortunately, things must of improved and shes not moving now<darn it!> Im also considering some type of pine tree that I can have planted on the foot section between where my fence is and the boundry line to claim it even further and also act as a privacy fence. Problem is, I would have to have something that grows 20 to 30 feet high to keep them from seeing me when Im in my yard as Im on the bottom and they are on the hill overlooking my property. Im definitly going to have trees planted along the backside of the fence so when they grow high enough it should block the spying neighbor from seeing me. I also had heard they were tired of living out there since they are an ethnic group and the only ones out there and were suppose to be considering moving. So far, they havent. <crap>
Ugh. I'm so sorry you are having such issues. We thankfully put up our property line fencing back when we had to lovely elderly neighbors nextdoor, who completely understood when I came by and told them I needed to put it up to keep my dogs in the yard (the first week we bought the house). I also made sure to let them know, we were putting up pig iron fencing so we could still talk over the fence and they could give the dogs treats as they loved to do.
Now years later, the two lovely elderly neighbors have sold their home to a nice single mom and her two daughters. Unfortunately single mom had her ex-husband move in, he brought with him two unaltered (and likely unvaccinated) young hunting dogs. He's tied them up near our fence, which really wasn't meant to hold big dogs like that (we have Bassets) and now I have two snarling, barking dogs forcing their heads through the fences to bark at our chickens and ducks. My dogs will go bark at them to get my attention, but they won't attack them. Its a bad situation though and nothing we've said to them seems to help as he claims he ties them up at my fence so his dogs orient on our birds, since he wants to use them to hunt. We've gone from 1 barking dachshund all hours of the night and day to three of them (dachshund + hunting dogs) and I know that fence isn't long for this world with the dogs sticking their heads through and trying to pull it down with their paws.
Hubby retires from the Navy in two years and we've already decided to move. I can't take this long term. But in the meanwhile: Anyone know add electricity to a pig iron fence?
I am no electric fence expert but grew up on an Iowa farm. There was nothing that we couldn't run an electric wire from. As long as you can attach the insulators you can run the wire. Get the weed burner and those dogs will touch it once!
Thanks for your service too. I'm a 25 year Army Ret Retired from Ft. Lewis. I have good friends who retired at Whidbey andl live up there. String a hot wire, and a video camera. The entertainment value of watching the dogs check the wire will offset the cost of the fence.
Maybe if the first guys cannot do it they can recommend someone to you.
As for them harrassing you about it the first time be prepared for it this time. If you have a small digital camera take it out with you. When they show up and start saying things turn it on and turn the video on and record it all. I've tried to find those small recorders, but couldn't.
Just another thought. If they come up and start bothering you, along with recording what they are saying, look them straight in the eye and tell them you are doing what your lawyer has advised you to do and if they continue to bother you you will call the police and file harrassment charges against them. Then pull your cell phone out.
Set up a game camera and get pictures of them coming over and bothering you. Some law enforcement agencies will loan them out. Ask your local game warden. Get the infared one that does pictures at night.
People are funny about property. My parents were good friends with their next door neighbors for years. Then the neighbors asked if they could have about a foot of land on my parent's side so they could make their driveway bigger. Of course, my parents said no. Who wants to just give their property away? And those were small lots as it was. Anyhow, those neighbors got mad and never talked to my parents again. They finally moved. Too bad your neighbors won't just move. i wonder what might inspire them?
The only way she would move is if she couldnt make the payments anymore. Believe me, when she kept saying, "Im not sure I can hang onto the house." I kept hoping every time I came home Id see a FOR SALE sign in her yard. Someone down the street has a sign in thier yard and I thought about going up there late at night and moving it into her yard as a joke<g>
I am hoping that the original fence people can do it and I will say that the lawyer advised me to move it and I do have a camera with video capability so I will take it up there and have it already set up to record if that should happen. Im sure she will come out and ask why Im doing it and why couldnt they keep the dog house there? You never said anything after we moved it back so we thought it was ok.....blah blah........I didnt say anything because I wanted you to leave me alone.
I do worry about them trying to claim it and I should of had that section moved as well as well as just putting it on the line but NOOOOOOOO I had to listen to everyone else. I feel I have no support out here with the other neighbors. Everyone says I should keep the peace. Thats easy to say when its not your property.
Course, in about five years the dog will be in puppy heaven and hopefully the son will be moved out and married.
Even my Mom says Im making a mountain out of a mole hill. She said tonight, "Well, how much land would you be losing if they try to claim it? I said "Five feet."
Its only five feet in the back corner of the property and then it angles up to only a foot off. Im gonna have it moved to where its a few inches off and then angle back to the foot off. This will claim that area that I should of in the first place and keep the dog house where it belongs, on thier property.
I havent seen the dog on my property for the past couple of days but thats also because Im back to work and the game cam hasnt captured him lately.
