problems at the end

The eggs are from different places even my own.I do open the vent but after thinking about the panting comment, I do remember thinking the first chick looked like it was panting.

I was actually thinking that it may be the guage showing 10 to 20% high so your humidity actually being to low. But its really all guess work without being there looking at them hatching. Are you seeing condensation on the glass? Most incubators have several vents. Two at the top an 6 or 8 small ones at the bottom.

There is also something that is very important that we haven't explored yet. Whenever I consider hatching my own egg and I do all the time because I am a breeder, that is feed. WTS it's always a good idea to feed breeder birds better feed it is a fact that the egg's do much better for a variety of reasons on breeder feed when hatching.

actually in the airsac that is between the inter and outer membrane has 0% humidity air molecules are smaller then water molecules and the pores in the egg shell and membrane are the right size to keep water out this allows the chick to build strength in its lungs

If that were the case (and Im just speculating here, because I really dont know), then why do directions for incubating state to keep the humidity at anywhere from 30-60%, so that the egg doesnt evaporate too much? Isnt evaporation water molecules at some point?

I noticed something in your post... when you say Pull the Plug... are you saying that you unplug the power to the bator on the last 3 days? Or the vent plugs.. I just want to make sure.
