Has anyone had major problems with this thermometer? It is the kind attached to the clear plastic card that you just set on top of the eggs.

I am a bit in shock right now, but it seems that this thermometer that I've been using for the past 6 days might be up to 15 degrees off!

Anyone else have this experience?

I spent the money, went to cutler bought but the instant read, digital thermometer, if you plan on a lot of hatching or expensive eggs, its worth it

I tried the walmart one was off by 3 degrees or more

Thanks guys. My DBF used this same thermometer last year successfully, so I figured it would work.

Eggs seemed too cold, even though it was reading 101. I put another thermometer in the same spot and it's reading 86

Thanks for the advice! I will now take the GQF and stomp on it and smash it into a million pieces

So not knowing how long temps have been so low, do you think there's any hope? This is day 6, and all I see when candling is what looks like a yolk. I've read all the candling threads and have a really good flashlight (surefire), but I just can't be sure of what I'm seeing. Looks like just a yolk to me though...these are light green eggs, and they seem very porous (bad for hatching).
Would you keep trying or toss them?

are they your eggs? or did you buy them, if yours toss if not put them back in and wait 5 days candle, you never know they might be good

you all ready have 2 strikes against you, but, its always worth a try, you need to decide how much time you want to invest in them, i'd keep going and candle in 5 or so days
