I had an older Montgomery Ward incubator and last year I got a pinhole in the water tray that leaked into my heating element box fried all my wiring and cooked 500 pheasant eggs.

Anyway I borrowed a smaller Humidaire model 20 from a friend but am having trouble keeping a constant temp. My old one you just plugged it in added water and hatched just about every egg that went in it. This thing you put eggs in and just wait a week to candle and throw them away. The only theng i found that helps it keep temp is if i leave the heater in my barn set at 75 degrees. I'm new to the humidaire do these really have that weak of element they can't take even a 10 degree temp change. I have checked the wafers and they seem to be fine. Any comments and help would be useful. thanks

I'm almost temted to turn up the barn heat another 25 degrees and use the whole thing as my incubator.
