Problems with my photo files

After some change was made to BYC photo uploader I can only see my last 5 files I uploaded on my computer so I am not able to select an image from any of my files except in the last 5 photo files I uploaded, can you tell me why, also I have tried all day to upload a photo and nothing happens I have to exit BYC, these things have only recently occurred when the change to up-loader was made.

I love the multipal file uploader can't wait to try it.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. Here are some things to do to possibly resolve your problem:

1. Clear your internet browser's cache / history of files. It's easy to do and almost as important as taking out the trash at home! See instructions here and here.
2. Determine if the problem is because of your browser and/or plugins and extensions. Download a free version of either Google Chrome or Firefox and see if the thing that was broken now works.
3. If you're still having problems, continue to the steps below:

If after following those steps, here are a few questions that will help us find, duplicate, and hopefully resolve the problem you are having. Go through these questions and reply with all the details of your problem:

• Describe your problem in as much detail as possible!
• What is the URL of the page that you had problems?
• Did you receive any error messages? If yes, what were they? (please copy and paste the entire message, screenshots are best)
• What were the exact steps you took before having the problem? Please be as specific as possible so we can reproduce exactly what you did. Go step by step, provide links, details, clicks, etc.
• How long has the problem been happening? When did it start? If only one time, what day and time did it happen?
• VERY IMPORTANT: Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.)
• Have you tried disabling all your browser plugins and/or extensions? (Some of these conflict with website features and tools)
• Have you deleted your internet cache / browser history of files and tried again?
• VERY IMPORTANT: Have you tried a different browser (we suggest Google Chrome or Firefox)?

Hello,
Zazouse suggested that I come here to report photo problems as well.

When I try to upload photos:
1. I click on the "embed an image" icon
2. I browse, and can see the image on my desktop
3. I click on the image
4. Where it says "uploading the image" with the bar that shows the progress of the upload, the bar moves to the right for a second, and then moves backwards and doesn't do anything.

-I did clear my cache.
-I have not yet tried another browser (I'll do that now).
-I have not made any changes to anything on my computer that could be causing a problem.

I would appreciate any recommendations for solving this problem!

Here I am again trying Safari, and the image still won't upload.

I am now able to upload photos but it is VERY slow.

Just as above, when I try to upload photos:
1. I click on the "embed an image" icon

5. If I go away from the computer and come back 5 minutes later, the photo has loaded and is ready to click on "submit."

I think that Zazouse is still unable to upload at all.
I hope you will find a solution????

Does the same slow down occur if you go to your Profile/Select Album/Upload to album/then embed using link under uploaded photo?

XP/Chrome (I only use the above method and no slowdown/difficulties).

I managed to upload 5 6.5mb photos yesterday in approx 5 minutes yesterday using Chrome as my browser, it will al depend on your photo size (mb) and your internet upload speed. If you have a poor internet connection it will take a while.

I tried small files still just does nothing, I can't even cancel it I have to exit BYC and start over, I can only upload the photos that I have already showed here.
I guess it is just my luck as usual

zazouse, what hardware platform/OS/Browser are you using? What is youir connection speed? If your browser has a setting offering the ability to kill plug-ins (or click to play plug-ins) try that. If available for your system you might try running CCleaner as well.
No problems uploading to other sites (image hosts) for instance?

If this doesn't work then start an upload and COPY the address of the page you're stuck on. Post the link for Nifty (along with the other info. listed above).

I'm not sure if I'm having the same problem as Zazouse, since my photos do load (if I go away for five minutes!).
I tried to load and then copy the URL but it was the same URL as when it wasn't loading a photo.
However, here is a screen shot of where everything grinds to a halt:

Haven't uploaded for awhile, but here's what I see: IE8 (slow but serviceable) & Chrome: Same URL: https://www.backyardchickens.com/gallery/album/add/album_id/5901879/user_id/262 IE8: Chrome: Think they might have a few kinks in the updated system, yet: Anyway, I've been trying to recreate this on a homebrew P4 desktop running XPSP3/IE8/Chrome on a 1.5Mb DSL, editing in bbcode. Uploader works with no delays, but the last time they performed an upgrade I got the same screen (IE8) with both IE and Chrome (and that did just sit and spin...). Hopeful this will hit the TO DO list for the techs, soon.
