Problems with this Waterer

I have this waterer, for around 6 weeks now. It now leaks where the top connects to the bottom. The entire contents will run out. Is this a regular problem? Should I just buy another or a different kind? If you own one like this, have you had leaking problems?

I love these waterers and I’ve had several but never had this problem unless it isn’t level or there is a hole in the top somewhere. It is kind of a pain making sure it’s level sometimes but I usually had no problems when I leveled a spot in the dirt then put paving stones over that for the waterer to sit on.

I put it on a flat paving stone.

Yes, I use it in their run.

I bought another, same basic design. It doesn’t have legs, though. I liked those legs holding it up higher. I had to get one, though, so the birds can have water.

Plastic don't hold up well in the sun, I'd get a metal one for your run, you can set it on a cinder block or hang it.

Do you have a patch of dense shade in your run? (Highly recommended!) If so, could you set the waterer there?
