Sell them! Advertise them as being of good temperament and sell them! Many folks out there looking for a well mannered roo that's a good flock master. I know if I could find a good, young rooster in a breed I like and it had the right look and temperament, I'd pay up to $15 for one.

I am going to advertise them for sale first... have sold 2 and the folks loved them. I won't sell a rooster that wasn't a good flock and people bird.

I learned basic butchering from a man from Africa a little over a year ago, and he uses everything possible. Especially the sheep-- everything but the pelt. Made me rethink my use of a carcass . . .

So I am failing at finding what I want in this thread! lol search is NOT my friend today.

I thought we discussed the possibility of breeding and hatching our own MEATIES chicks, but I cant find what breeds and all that info we discussed to get a least as close to a 8-10 week to process, or maybe it wasnt here? ugggg

I don't remember a detailed discussion of it here, I know there have been other threads about similar topics... one is 'breeding favorelles (sp?)back to Dorkings' I believe... I have it bookmarked if you need it but I don't think it was aimed at the ten week mark, more like 16 to 18 wks.
