Now that we have the plucker, we will just cut the heads off and bleed them, then put them in the plucker, then gut them. Cut the legs off at the knees, and the wings, and butterfly them for the BBQ.
There really is no easy way on the heart to process animals for eating. I will not do the killing (unless hubby isn't here to do it for me) but once that is out of the way I have no problem with the cleaning. I usually say a little prayer of thanks to each of the animals before handing them over to hubby. But that is the way of life. Just because you get something packaged at the store doesn't mean it wasn't dispatched in a similar, and sometimes less heartfelt, manner. I am thankful for every animal that gives its life for me and my family. Am I happy about it? heck no. But very grateful that I still have the means to have good healthy livestock for meals.
