Production Blue?

Our local Rural king is selling “Production Blue” pullets, a brees I’m not familiar with. Usually their staff doesn’t really know anything about the chicks, or I’d just ask them what they are. Are they like production reds?

I’m not sure. If that is the case, just call the blue eggers. I think of production reds

My guess is blue egg layer( Easter egger), but I’ve never heard of that name before!

They were all gray. Really crazy, I was thinking maybe they are Rhode Island blues lol

Sure they're not badly-labelled blue sexlinks? A few hatcheries (Purely Poultry and MPC, probably others) are hatching varieties of blue sexlinks.

I was informed by rural king they are a cross between the blue austrolorp and rhode island red

The Production Blues are in the 2019 catalogue from Strombergs that just came out. They are a brown egg layer (250 - 300 per year) . I phoned and was told that these chicks are hatched in New Mexico and shipped from there to the buyers.
Production Blues and Production Reds are described together in the catalogue.
They do look interesting.
