But remember, the mother of the chicks is not a faverolle but a Red Sex Link. I don't know if that could have something to do with a black chick or not.

Good idea. He definitely isn't a pure Faverolles, not even a poor quality hatchery one. Even hatchery ones have more mahogany in the saddle, along with white legs and 5 toes. I'm not convinced he is even part Fav since mixes often have extra toes as well. Of course he could very well be a mix of a mix of a mix...I think I'm just going to call him a mixed breed from now on,

As long as he has a good temperament then he's a keeper!
