Production red or RIR??

Do you not like Rhode Island reds?😉
Well we ended up with so many chickens bc of the 6 chick minimum. I was glad to have 2 production reds and 2 RIR. Now that we have 4, ill probably need to sell 2 at the auction. Theyre decent layers so we will see.

Oh okay!😉 Yeah they are really good! Mine lays every single morning! She’s never taken a break in her whole life! She’s a year old.😉 But her laying schedule will start to slowly get later and later and then once it reaches a certain point she starts laying once the sun comes up all over again!🤣

What size does she typically lay? That's my biggest concern is that they only seem to lay mediums from what I'm seeing if they'll a large or bigger that's fantastic but sounds like people around here don't care to buy medium eggs LOL

The vast majority of Rhode Island reds are the production type. They are great layers who have been bred for that quality. If you were planning on showing Rhode Island reds, you would need to have the type called heritage Rhode Island reds. They are much darker in color and have brick shaped bodies.

Oh no. Ours are all pets. Hoping to sell their eggs to help cover costs. No showing for us.
We have more of each breed than we planned and i ordered 22 bantams that will ship from ideal on the 18th so trying to downsize some bigger breeds.
I bought 3 chicks that i was told were SLW and they were more Australorps. That type of thing.

That's gonna be a handful!

You can sell production RIRs as just plain RIRs. Everyone will know what you mean.

I have 3 of my RIR eggs (because we always eat hers first cause they are so good🤣) and they were 56-57g in weight!😉 Not sure what that is but I believe they are large sized?😉
