Productivity vs popularity

Lohmann browns seem to be very unpopular among backyard chicken keepers, this is surprising - since they are apparently very productive (320 eggs per year), never go broody and are overall good chickens
Is there a reason for this that I am not seeing ? Aesthetically unappealing perhaps
 
Are Lohmann Browns the same as ISA browns and Gold/Red Sex Links? If that's the case then they're widely popular :) or at least very commonly kept! I was the only person at fair who Didn't own one in my flock
