Short for  P ro file  picture. I'm young, so I guess, yeah! I like the round ones. I saw the ones over on Backyard Herds and wondered why BYC's are square.

yee, The term "avatar" is more associated with web 1.0 and early internet culture, while "profile picture" or "PFP" is more associated with web 2.0 and modern social media
