The beginnings of the coop. Our friends Matt and his son Jamie are building the coop.

More construction

Chicks are getting bigger. We moved them into a very big dog crate.

Still in dog crate.

Ok, now I'm having trouble with my camera which connected like a charm the first time. Now it doesn't see the camera. I'll eventually get all these pictures on here.

Here we go with the rest of what I have on the computer. I'll figure out the other problem sooner or later and then you can see the ark that Matt built. They are getting chickens once they get ours housed.

Now it looks llike it could hold some chickens before long.

Maybe we will have a roof soon.

Jamie gets advice from his dad.

DH feeding the chicks by hand. Actually I don't guess they are still chicks. One of the cockerels is trying to crow.

Aren't they pretty?

Ok,

So now that I have figured out pictures no one is looking at my posts. I hope my avatar works. It is a picture of flowers from our 30th wedding anniversary party and renewal of vows.

Yes,

I'll keep this going and add more pictures now that I have gotten it figured out. The last pictures were taken yesterday. I don't know when the next work session is going to be, probably one evening this week. Jamie is going back to college next weekend. We'll get it finished sooner or later. I'll try to upload the pictures of the ark that they are in now.

Here is an update on what has been happening with our Barred Hollands. We moved them into the big coop last night. They were happy to have a much larger space when they came out this morning.

Here are some pictures.

I'll test this out and see if it works then put up some more.

Ok, That was the last of the construction pictures. Here we go with the finished coop and last night's move.

Where they have been living.

Pat and Kanaan getting ready to move them. He lives across the street and is our special chicken helper.

Putting them in.

The last one is done.

They did not sleep on the roosts last night. They crowded up together on the floor. They have been so used to being crowded up in the top of the little chicken tractor, that they probably were intimidated by all the extra space. HOpefully they will get used to it soon.

Thanks for everyone's encouragement and support through the whole process of getting them grown. I will post about the harvesting day on the Meat Bird topic. It was very interesting.
