I am posting this because I have used so many of the ideas that I have found on this site. Like everyone else ....I will pass on my mistakes and small victories.

It's 6X6.

So far, I am very happy with the nest boxes and the floor.
My wife found a remnant piece of industrial lino at a discount store.
I got the windows for a good price on e-bay.

Thing I would change:
I didn't leave enough space over the nest boxes. I guess they can sit up there and watch me do yard work.

I threw some tar paper on the roof to keep out some rain until next weekend. I have to admit, I have had more fun on this project than most! And weekends don't come soon enough.

I have had some help from great friends and my kids. A lot of memories are being made.

Next steps:
Trim
Roofing
Siding
Doors
Run - I need to figure out the best way to level the run.

Comments and suggestions welcomed. I will update my progress as I go.

Excellent! That looks very well constructed. The only suggestion I might have would be to make more overhang, particularly over the nest box access (I wish I had of done that on mine), if it's not already too late.

Have you decided where you are going to put the roosts?

Looks great, but I would suggest a ridge vent on the roof. The more air circulation the better. What kind of siding are you going to use?

I think the gable vent will work, as long as you put in another one on the opposite wall. Maybe you can slope the top of the nest box going toward the window? Anything to keep them from pooping all over them.

I do plan on a gable vent on the other side. The large opening under that is for ventilation. 32"X32" opening with hardware cloth.

The siding will be cedar shakes.

Thanks for the tips! Keep them coming.
