OK I just read the rest of the posts and saw your pictures.. It looks like you have a hatcher there.. that is fine it will work as a bator ...
forget about the back up thermostat for this hatch.. I did not know you had your eggs in already.. the back up thermostat only keeps the bator from going over 100.5 F. as a safety precaution.. It is never used unless your first thermostat fails completely,,,,,very rare.. don't lose any sleep over it..
