Project: Crested EE

I haven't seen those! Not sure what would come of it. I'll look them up!
I re-read the traits you are wanting, SFH's have single combs, I'm not sure how many generations it would take to get a consistent pea comb? I have a soft spot for Swedish Flower Hens :ya I only have the one crested rooster, but he'll be helping me get a couple crested pullets to keep next year. They are reasonable crests, nothing like a silkie.

Oh that's nice. I won't be adding them. The only thing I might add is a few silver laced polish if I decide to try for laced. I want to stick to black and lavender.

The lavender Ameraucana rooster, 2 lavender Ameraucana hens and 3 black Ameraucana hens have been moved to the Crested EE Project pen. The last lavender Ameraucana hen is in the house recovering from bumble foot. I had to cut open the top of her foot to get the kernel out.😐 She's on her 2nd week in the house as I keep an eye on it. Her booties came off yesterday and it all looks good so far!

Names have been chosen for the two roosters. I'm being a dork here but here they are: Crevecoeur is Cirrus Thunder and the Ameraucana is Cumulo Nimbus.

🙃🤣
Also yes I was thinking about the Harry Potter books with I named them. I couldn't not think about it. :lau

All project birds for Project Crested EE are in their own pen now. I am adding another 9ft by 18ft to the pen to alleviate stress on the roosters and one hen that has a very timid personality.

So as of today I'm counting down three months till I can be sure the eggs from the pen will be either roosters. So eggs should be ready by Feb 15th 2025 for this project.
