Project: Crested EE

All project birds for Project Crested EE are in their own pen now. I am adding another 9ft by 18ft to the pen to alleviate stress on the roosters and one hen that has a very timid personality.

So as of today I'm counting down three months till I can be sure the eggs from the pen will be either roosters. So eggs should be ready by Feb 15th 2025 for this project.
:woot

I might switch out the Crevecoeur for sanjack long crowers. They have about the same body but the sanjack has a Spitzhauben like crest that I really want on these. Spitzhauben will be added in as well.
Shady Grove (in WV) has some great sanjaks, but I'm not sure if they're breeding right now. Maybe they have some adults available? They had some roosters at a poultry swap about a month ago and they looked like great candidates for your project.

I'm looking at a place in FL that has a silver blue rooster or I'll go black with leakage as the Ameraucana rooster is lavender. I'll do hatching eggs as I would hate to have an adult bird shipped.

LOL, I've been eyeing eggs from Shady Grove on eBay for a while now just didn't that's who you where talking about!

So even with the expansion of the pen the lavender Ameraucana male Nimbus wasn't letting up on chasing the Crevecoeur Thunder around the pen many times a day. I have removed Nimbus and he's back in the mixed population for now. He may get his own pen in the future. 🫤
Lol, went to check on every one and Nimbus is dust bathing in the main pen with all the littles. Knew there was another reason he's a keeper.
