I have determined from reading the information on this site that my Silkie has prolapse. i first noticed it Sunday but didn't begin treatment until Monday. I didn't know what it was. I'm doing the suggested treatment - warm cleaning, honey or PH and putting it back in. She just pushes it back out. I can't tell if there's something she's trying to expell. She hasn't laid anything since before Sunday. Is there anything else I should do?

I am treating what I think is an egg bound hen. This is my first time dealing with this so I hope someone can offer you information that I lack.

Feel her belly to her vent for an egg. I would sit her in a bath of warm water and really clean her up. If no egg and she keeps pro lapsing she may need an x stitch over her vent to keep the prolapse from pushing out. Keep up the treatment as well.

  4. Also use preperation H, helps some. Hope she starts feeling better soon!
