Prolapse vent in new duckling??

Gosh this is a happy ending 💖.

Now we need a pic of the beautiful baby's face being totally adorable (as only a baby that put you through so much worry can be). I suspect this baby will grow up to be a beloved adult.

Congratulations to you, and welcome to the world little duckling 🎈 🦆

(Tears of joy)

I hope New duck mommy 2021 is correct that the sac contained waste from the bottom of the egg. It certainly looked like intestines in your earlier photos.
Now that the yolk is being absorbed [and feeding the duckling] the sac does look smaller and the "intenstines" are no longer visible.

I'm also rooting for this little one.
Good luck: keep her quiet and clean where she cannot be pecked by the other ducklings.

I'll get a pic!!!

That looks better
Seems like the gunk at the bottom of the egg is attached to the end of the yolk
Baby should absorb the yolk and this gross stuff should dry up and fall off
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you guys
Do you think he needs a heat lamp?? It's hott in the shed!

Maybe not at night.. but pretty close. In the afternoon it's definitely that hot.. I'd say
Thing is, they need to be able to escape the heat. Is there anywhere cooler that they could go, with a heat lamp just to one side/corner of the brooder?

At night you could put a heat lamp but make sure they can also get away from it if needed
In the day if I hr shed is running really hot are you able to have a fan going so they could cool down as well ?
