I have a hen that is about a yr and half and I have been dealing with lice in my flock now that they all have been treated I found one with a prolapsed vent and she is rare and very red on her belly. I need to know best way to treat her and what I need to treat her. Can I use coconut oil instead of pH and keeping her from laying eggs. Thank u

Honey, sugar, or Preparation H all can help reduce the swelling so that you can push the red prolapsed tissue back inside. You may want to mix the coconut oil with the sugar to make a paste. Keep the prolapse moist so that the tissue does not dry out. You may stop her from laying by reducing the amount of protein or her feed, and keep her in a dark cage for 16 hours every night. This can take a couple of days, according to articles I have read.
