Newbie here! My chicks hatched today while I was at work (day 22) and one of them has this red bubble hanging out of his bottom. Should I do something or let it take care if itself? Also--the first 2 chicks hatched 24 hours ago--and I have 3 that have not fluffed yet--but I have two more eggs without even a pip--when should I move all to the brooder?
and Welcome To BYC! It looks like it might be an unabsorbed yolk sack. You might try putting the chick in a small jar or plastic tub to let it continue absorbing the yolk sack without being disturbed, not sure if you have seen it, but the Hatching Eggs 101 article talks about open navels and unabsorbed yolk sacks etc and some things to try, about 3/4 way down the page.
