One of my newly hatched chicks prolapsed what looked like ALL of it's insides. This isn't an emergency anymore, i decided right away to put it out of it's misery. But I would like to know if anyone knows what causes something like that to happen to a brand new chick??? It was fine, running around the brooder and i don't think it had even ate or drank yet. was actually a very healthy-looking baby, no umbilical problems or anything. everything had very obviously fallen out of it's vent though, it was just an open, empty hole when i found it. I did not take pictures because it was just THAT horrible.
But why did it happen?

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
