Yesterday we had a chicken try to lay her first egg, but unfortunately ended with a prolapsed vent. We ended up taking the egg out and pushing the tissue back in. Then this morning we soaked her in an epsom salt bath, and then cleaned her up with witch hazel and a hemorrhoid cream. Her vent had prolapsed again so we had to push that back in as well. She seems to be doing ok... with all things considered. We've also refrained from giving her any food this morning or last night to try and stop egg production and she only has access to water and some oyster shells. She is also isolated from the flock and is kept in a dark room. I was wondering though if there was anything else we should do and when we should give her another bath. Should we bathe her multiple times a day? or just once? Also when should we start giving her food again?

How is she doing? I had a pullet with a prolapse this morning with her first egg. The egg was soft and I did t know how to get it out. Her crop was still completely full from yesterday. My husband put her down because I could y stay with her today. She was pretty far gone. I want to know what to do if it happens again.
