My EE looks like she has a prolapsed vent or something. She has a mass of pink tissue hanging out of her vent. I know she laid an egg this morning and she seemed fine, but now she is walking funny and has this prolapsed tissue. Is there anything I can do?

I looked it up, and I managed to get it back in, but I don't have any antibiotics to give and no feed stores are open today. Guess I'm just going to have to wait and see how she does.

I had that happen to my EE hen. She wasn't savable. I had to cull her.

There were a couple of good threads on here about it. Do you have any Preparation H?

Good luck with her!

I just want to say not to get too upset, my Gold Sex Link prolapsed hers about a month ago giving Gigantic eggs almost immeadiatly after first starting to lay. I gloved up and pushed back in what I could and most of the time it is inside but it also seems to push back out on occasion and she seems to be able to right herself when that happens. Everytime I see it, I'll glove up again and push back but I think she just lays too large an egg and I don't know how to stop her from doing that so we live this way.

She prefers me not to go pushing herself back in but I feel like I had better keep doing so. Other than this occasional craziness, she is a completely normal pullet, very nice tempered girl, she eats great and lays every single day with only a very rare day off. I have no clue how to slow her down, I use no lights or heat in the barn since it doesn't have electricity and I only run a cord out there when I need to use my power tools to fix or build their setup.
