Today when I went out to check on my quail and found a female egg bound with a prolapsed vent. I helped her with the egg but I'm not sure when to do for the vent. is there anything I can do other than to push it back in?

Do you have photos?

@TwoCrows may be able to offer more tips for Quail, but I would treat it like a prolapse in chickens.
If there is still prolapsed tissue, keep it moist with an ointment - you can use an anti-inflammatory cream, honey, prep H, etc. If it's not too swollen, you can try pushing it back in, but if it won't stay, then keep the tissue moist with ointment.
Soaking in a warm epsom salts bath may help too, but my understanding is Quail stress easily, so use your judgement on how well she handles and if the bath might stress her badly. If she's lethargic, then it would be better to leave off the soaking.

Keep her hydrated. I would get some calcium into her. For a Quail, I would go with 1/4-1/2 Caltrate once day, extra calcium can help with retention.

Hopefully others will chime in soon.

@Wyorp Rock has given you great advice! Definitely follow. I will also add you need to keep her in somewhat dim light until she heals or at least short daylight hours. Enough light to eat and drink, about 8 hours worth and then lights out. This will shut off the yolk releases, the last thing she needs now is to continue laying. Once the prolapse has healed, she can go back to standard lighting. If you have other birds, you will want to keep her separated from them so they don't peck at her vent. You might keep her in a separate section away from the others but so they can see her for 8 hours and then remove her for a darkened space to heal at night. This way integrating her back into the flock goes smoothly since they haven't forgotten her.

Keep us posted!
