We have a pretty good Avian Vet, and she says when there’s a lash egg or material and there is usually an ova duct infection. We have had many of these infections in our flock, and we only treated one early enough to cure it. Our vet gives us 30 days of 300mg cephalexin antibiotic tabs, quarter tablet every 12 hrs. Unfortunately, if she has had it for a while, then it’s hard to beat. You have to get it early.Thank you, I appreciate all your help![]()
Very sorry about your lovely hen. Just found this thread today, hoped it would have a better outcome. You had the best of help. I had a hen prolapse last year with no warning and when I found her she was already in terrible shape, all we could do was end her suffering. How these creatures can be so tough and yet so fragile at the same time is beyond me. You did your best.
