I have a hen who is about 9 weeks old. She’s not started laying yet, and is in a group of 9 other girls. This past Sunday I noticed her bleeding. I quarantined her, have been giving her salt baths, making sure she’s clean and put some ointment on her this morning.
She’s lost a lot of blood and I’m not sure what else to do.
Anything else to try? Thank you!

As I look more closely at my hen, it’s actually not her vent. Seems to be a protuberance below the vent. Has any one seen this before? Perhaps a burst blood vessel?

She may have been pecked an injured. Do you see any maggots moving in the wound? Pictures would be very helpful. If there would be maggots, get her into warm soapy water to wash them off. Apply antibiotic ointment. Let us know and get pictures.

Pictures please?

No maggots thank goodness. Seems to be better today, still bloody.
