Prolonged zipping - advice needed

That is so exciting about your chicks! Congrats - any more today?

The chicks were good this morning but still pretty sleepy/low energy. We went out for a long walk and when we came home they were like different little animals! Mainly up and moving about, running and fluttering their wings, having little tussles, eating a ton. We are feeling so much more optimistic. I am SO glad we ended up helping or we'd have no chicks.

I candled and four definitely had full chicks in them, but no signs of internal pipping and no movement. I really don't know what happened at the end, it's unfortunate. They're still in the incubator but I'm not really holding out any hope.

I was hoping you would see some internal pips. I would definitely let them go to at least day 24 just in case. And keep your humidity up, if you can!

For me today, I had another five eggs pipped but it was the waiting game ALL DAY LONG! I just had 3 hatch in the last hour. So, that is a total of 6 now. I still have about 3 pipped eggs. Tomorrow is day 21. So I am hoping for more action tomorrow!

Just a little update at five days old - chicks are doing great! They're quickly outgrowing their bin and we're going to move them to the bigger brooder this weekend and hopefully put them on wood chips as the paper towel gets disgusting so quickly. One still has a sandal, so we need to test it out tomorrow to see how it will make out without it. They're getting very curious and the wings and tail feathers are coming in fast and furious.

Anyway, just wanted to be a testament to helping chicks out if a hatch is going sideways - at some point you have nothing to lose! Thanks again to everyone for your help and guidance.
