proper nutrition for my young laying hens

I have six 17week old pullets. I over estimated grower feed and have an extra 50lb bag I havent even opened yet. Is it ok to feed the grower feed + oyster shell until it runs out then switch over to layer feed?

follow up: for the oyster shell, I just offer it in a separate miniature feeder near the feed bucket the same way I offer the grit?
