proper storage for hatching eggs?

Hi,

I'm collecting some hatching eggs for someone else...I'll be hand-delivering them next Wednesday. Do I just stick them in cartons at room temp, big end up? or is there something else I should do? She only wants about as many as I'd collect in two days...
