Thank you for all the responses! I talked it over with my mom and she did not like the idea, the thing is that of course that he doesn't lay eggs and we have a dog for protection. We barely have any hawks and my only predator concern are coons and neighbor dogs. My dog is a sweetheart and will not fight with other dogs etc, but she has a big bark that scares most things away. As far as breeding, my friends mom said that if we ever got a rooster that she would get chicks from us, we would not breed him for us because I don't think my dad is going to make any more coops.
As far as crowing, I have one neighbor that said that she would not mind to hear crowing, but I am not to sure about our other neighbors. I personally like the sound of crowing. And if he got mean, I would have very few problems in getting rid of him.
I think he would have enough ladies to make him happy. We have 8 hens and might be rescuing 4 more hens that are a couple years old or so. So I don't think that there would be enough room in our coop.
I do have a "coop" that can fit 2-4 chickens in it, I am going to use this for quarantining the 4 hens if we get them. There are a few pics of my "big" coop on my page if you want to see.
So I guess we would have no use for him.
But one word: HOPE!
