I have two chickens an old english bantam and an old english. The bantam just flew into my backyard and took up residence. The old english i purchased . Both of them are very skittish and you can't get close to them. I read here on the forum during the winter you should put petroleum jelly on their combs and wattles. How do you manage this when you can't get close to them They free range in the backyard. Fortunately I live in Florida where it doesn't usually get that cold, but they do sleep outdoors. One in a tree and the other on a windowsill?
