Protecting Ducks in Snowy Weather

It looks like it will do fine, keep in mind they don't even need that and would be totally happy to be left outside in the freezing cold all night, they just don't feel the cold at all. sure it seems odd to see them tucked up and 2" of snow on them but they do like it. Now I know many folks won't do that but I am just making a point.

We raised and sold Call Ducks for many years. They are small and still don't mind the snow or cold. We had a pond and kept it opened. They swam daily.

We had to drive them in the Barn in the evening and let them out in the morning. They stayed out all day. They love the outside...and the Pond. We always gave them fresh hay.

Now we have Silkie Chickens and find they are much easier. Regards, Aria

so yeah, *I* am bothered by it way more than they are...

hmm the hawk.. i got one like that.. mine all all Muscovy.. so BIG birds.. i don't worry about it.. but it probably does depend on your area and predators.. I'm in the country, with plenty of food for them(hawks) so i don't think they'll bother much with the ducks...

I refuse to pen up my main flock... they all stay on the farm and love foraging, i do not clip wings either, i think it's something that each person has to evaluate for themselves..
