Anyone have any animals other than dogs or roosters that help protect their flock from predators? Looking for a good excuse to bring more animals home 😂😂

In most cases, any protector animals 'protect' by giving their lives so the rest of the flock can hope escape. They can do well without one.

Our coops and run both are inside another fence .When the chickens are outside I turn my hounds loose in the perimeter fence. My chickens aren't in the same fence as with the dogs.

Sounds like what we are doing. On our property we have a large fenced in area. We are building our coop and run inside that. I was curious to know about how your dogs protect the flock. Thank you.

Sorry but I deleted my original comment and repost .I'm using a tablet I'm not familiar with
What kind of dog do you have? We have a Newfoundland who is extraordinarily gentle. We won’t have our chicks until mid April, and I’m wondering if he will be a good protector of them if they know him from being chicks.
Even if he's a gentle giant you'll have to keep him in a separate fence and train him which takes time. Its taken me years to fully train both my dogs to protect mine.
