Protein amount in layers; so many choices

If you did a 50/50 mix with 16% layer/and the 27% feed you have it would look like this:  1 part layer + 1 part 27:  16 + 27 = 43/2 = 21.5%.  That would bring it down to an acceptable limit.  Still above 16%, so you've got additional leeway to add some scratch and lower protein table scraps, and they would still have plenty of protein.

thank you, this definitely would bring it down a bit. I was thinking to add the layer feed to the other feed and mixEd well, would this work as well, I've done this while transitioning from feeds. This way I can just get the regular mixed flock from Rural King and layer feed then it'll last longer too.

great! I mixed it for tonight's fill up. Felt good not over using oyster shell in feeder as well. I did add some omega 3 but that's not alot. Thx for all your help.
