protein whats best

Sorry, I did not look carefully to track each post's attribution to notice that you also posted the yogurt information. I was reacting to the very long post about the virtues of DE (copied from one or more other places -- PLEASE credit your sources when you copy and paste, not only is it polite and helpful but copyright law still applies on the internet) (e.t.a. - had a spare minute. I found it: http://www.biconet.com/home/infosheets/DEarticle1.html although you've snipped out some bits about the Permaguard company).

Yes, yogurt, irrespective of whether you put DE or anything else in, has some protein in it.

No the DE used in swimming pools is different and is dangerous to ingest.
You want to get the food grade DE.
You can buy it many places online, inlcuding someone on this forum, spatcher is the name he goes by,he sells it.
Otherwise, you can check your local feed store, hardware store or garden center.
I had to order mine because I couldn't get the food grade around here. I got mine from Shadow Ridge.com but there are many places to get it.

Hi spence90 and welcome to BYC.

All chickens are not created equal, like people they have their likes and dislikes. Mine hate yogurt.....its about the only thing they do dislike..

But they LOVE black oil sunflower seeds. Give them to them whole, unshelled. I put a handful or so in their scratch feed, and they pick all the sunflower seeds out first!

A great treat chock full of protein that my girls love.
