A friend’s chicken has this protruding bump on the back of her neck. Her behavior seems normal otherwise. Does anyone know what this could be, and does it require treatment? Anything that can be done at home? Thanks in advance!

She could disinfect the skin and lance it and see if it has solid pus inside or if it just bleeds. Bleeding would be more common with a tumor. Can she see a vet for advice?
